  • This unit performs call recording for 4 extensions. The unit connects to the extensions in the backroom and then to a USB port on a PC. Up to 12 call loggers can be connected to a single PC so that 48 calls may be monitored simultaneously. The PC must support 12 USB ports. If more than 48 extensions
    need to be monitored then more PCs must be added. All recordings can be managed by a single supervisor who can choose where on the network to store the calls, listen, forward, save and delete.

  • The standard Dterm VSR (780275) is designed to be used as an individual desktop application maintained by the individual user with a basic player and recorder application. The 4-Port Call Logging unit is designed for switch room installation and monitoring of multiple telephones as a back office application by a single desktop PC.
  • The NEC 4-Port Digital Call Logging Unit is a centralized Call Recording and storage solution. The complete Solution consists of:
    • A 4 Port USB device that taps across the digital extension pair of an NEC Dterm telephone.
    • A PC for interfacing the recording devices with NEC BackOffice Recording software installed.
    • Dterm VSR Player (included) or NEC VSR Manager (optional) for management and playback of recorded calls.
  • The NEC 4-Port Digital Call Logging Unit USB recording device has 5 connectors and 4 LED indicators:
    • One PC USB connector, from which the device derives its power and streams all speech and control channel information up to the host PC and the NEC BackOffice application.
    • Four Digital Phone line connectors that passively ‘tap’ across the NEC Dterm Digital port and ‘listen’ in high impedance mode to the signaling on the line. The NEC 4 Port Digital Call Logging Unit does not affect in any way the telephone operation with or without connection of the host PC.

  • PC Requirements
    A P-4 2.5 GHz PC equipped with:
    • 512 Mb RAM.
    • Windows XP, Windows 2000 Professional SP4, or 2003.
    • 1 USB Controller Card for each 4 devices – powered USB hubs can be used;
    however, no more than 4 devices should be connected to a USB Controller Card.
    • An available PCI slot for each USB controller card.
    • LAN connection for remote access to stored calls.
    • NEC Back Office Recorder Software (included) or optional Dterm VSR Manager.

  • Storage
    We recommend that you store your calls on the same host PC. Using the GSM 6.10
    Compression option, each 1Gb of Hard disk storage will allow approximately 168 hours
    of call recording.
    Storage locations are selected using the NEC Back office CD included with the 4-port logging unit. Using the GUI, each device is easily mapped to a storage folder. It is recommended that all calls are stored on the same PC. However, if a network drive is used, you should choose a folder location on the local PC to ‘buffer calls’. This will allow the application to run and store calls even if the network is down temporarily.
